Specialty Doctor (FTC)

Job summary Are you an outstanding Specialty Doctor looking for your next challenge in psychiatry and a competitive salary? We are seeking an experienced full-time Specialty Doctor who will work at Cygnet Churchill and provide psychiatric care on Palm Court, our 17 bed male mental health acute service. Please note this a FTC for 3 months to provide cover for September, October and November. You will be fully involved as a practising psychiatrist - while being fully supported by a Consultant Psychiatrist and first-class multidisciplinary team. Palm Court provides a safe and stabilising environment for men who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission. The ethos of our service is about assessing and treating people in the least restrictive environment and planning for discharge in a robust and timely fashion. With a focus on stabilisation, we support service users to manage their mental health, reinforce daily living skills and prepare for independent life back in the community. Main duties of the job Provide high quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist Assess referrals & undertake mental state examinations of service users Participate in weekly ward rounds & attend multidisciplinary meetings Attend Care Programme Approach & Section 117 meetings & mental health review tribunals Provide up-to-date clinical information at all meetings Ensure that medical decisions are implemented as planned Audit medical services & ensure compliance with GMC & other professional guidelines Uphold policies & procedures and contribute to service governance & development Participate in the On call rota in line with the needs of the region About us Cygnet have been providing a national network of high-quality specialist mental health services for more than 30 years.
