Job summary We are looking for Phlebotomist (Care coordinators) (full or part time) to work with our friendly and supportive team at Faversham Medical Group. Phlebotomist (Care coordinator) (Agenda For Change - Band 2) These positions will require working weekends and Bank Holidays due to our Urgent Treatment Centre being open 7 days a week 8am to 8pm. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be carried out as part of our recruitment procedures and also regularly during employment. Those who have lived/travelled abroad for more than 3 months over the past 5 years must also undergo a police check from the relevant country. The responsibility for payment of this lies with the Practice. It is a requirement that safeguarding training will remain up to date and the safeguarding policies and procedures in place within the Practice will be adhered to during employment. Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions. Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample. Collection of sample(s) of blood in accordance with training and procedures. Ensuring samples are stored in appropriate containers. Accurate, legible labelling of all samples to confirm patient identity. Checking patient identification against GP request and confirming with patient whenever possible. Recording collection of blood sample in patient record in accordance with Faversham Medical Group procedure. Ensuring that samples are dispatched to the appropriate laboratories in a timely fashion. Ensuring that anomalies are reported to a senior member of staff. Notifying the GP/Nurse of any significant patient issues. Blood pressure recording. Urine tests. Liaising with and assisting members of the administrative team. Perform administrative tasks to meet the needs of Faversham Medical Group and the Urgent Treatment Centre. Clear and re-stock consulting rooms. To assist with maintaining, ordering, putting away clinical supplies and stock rotation.
